Mission Statement
The
Department of Foreign Languages is committed to
excellence in teaching and service in the following disciplines:
communication skills, presentation skills, academic writing,
critical reading and report writing. The department serves students
by providing a wide array of teaching and learning opportunities
that foster listening, speaking, delivering effective presentations,
critical reading, essay and report writing techniques. Through
effective teaching methods and techniques, the department wishes to
contribute significantly to the academic enrichment and the quality
of life of the campus, community, and region thus become active
participants in the academic, social and work related communities.
The Department of Foreign Languages has the
following goals:
TO FOSTER in students the skills to read accurately, write clearly,
and think analytically.
TO ENCOURAGE students and faculty to appreciate, understand, and
advance the knowledge of our discipline.
TO NURTURE students in their creation of effective thinking and
writing.
TO ENRICH the educational, social, cultural, and professional lives of the students by providing a variety of curricular
offerings, debates, conferences etc.
TO SUPPORT the mission of Atilim University including a commitment through
excellence in education, research, and public service.
